The free trial
The Yearly plan begins with a 3-day free trial. You can use the entire app (every lens, every widget, every Live Activity) during the trial. There is no separate free tier outside the trial.
Your free trial begins the moment you tap "Start free trial" on the paywall. If you cancel at any point during those three days, you will not be charged. There are no email confirmations, no win-back popups, no dark patterns.
Billing & renewal
If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your Apple ID is charged $49.99 (USD) or the local-currency equivalent set by Apple. The subscription auto-renews yearly until you cancel. Apple notifies you 7 days before each annual renewal. You can find this in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Geography.
Lifetime is a one-time purchase. There is no renewal, no expiration. You can buy it instead of starting a trial, or you can convert from Yearly later. Your subscription will be cancelled and the lifetime applied.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time through iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Geography → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for. We never ask you to email, fill in a form, or convince a chatbot. The cancellation lives in Apple's system, not ours.
Refunds
Because Apple processes the payment, refunds are handled by Apple. The fastest route is reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple typically grants refunds for accidental purchases. If Apple declines and you think they shouldn't have, email geography@supportu.ai and we'll personally advocate on your behalf.
Family Sharing
Both Yearly and Lifetime support Apple Family Sharing. One purchase covers up to six family members in your Family group, configured through iOS Settings. We do not see anything about your family members beyond Apple's standard sharing receipt.
Student plan, billed on the web
The student plan is sold at playgeography.app/student and billed in US dollars by Stripe through RevenueCat, not by Apple. Weekly, monthly, and yearly plans auto-renew until you cancel. There is no free trial on the student plan.
Cancel from the link in any receipt email, or from your account page. Access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds for a charge in the last 14 days: email geography@supportu.ai and we will sort it out.
Student status is self-declared. We record the school you name and may ask for confirmation. The plan is for people currently enrolled; if that changes, move to a standard plan in the app.
Changes to pricing
Yearly renewals are at the price you signed up at. If we raise the standard price, Apple will notify you, and you'll be asked to consent before any higher renewal. Lifetime is final: the one-time price is the only price.
