Accepting these terms
By downloading or using the Geography iOS app ("the app") or browsing this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. The app is operated by SupportU LLC, a US limited-liability company.
Your account
You may use Geography without an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple, you're responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. The app stores your reading progress on-device; optional iCloud sync uses your private CloudKit container. We do not access either.
Content & intellectual property
Every lens, illustration, map rendering, and piece of editorial copy in Geography is original work, written and edited by humans, and is the property of SupportU LLC. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to read and use this content inside the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may quote up to two consecutive sentences of a lens for review, education, or journalism, with attribution to "Geography". For longer excerpts, please email geography@supportu.ai; we're generous, but we'd like to know.
Trademarks: "Geography," the green compass mark, and "A book that updates itself" are trademarks of SupportU LLC.
Payments and subscriptions
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. See the full subscription terms for renewals, trials, refunds, and cancellation. In short: you can cancel any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds for accidental purchases are handled through Apple.
The student plan, sold on this website, is billed by Stripe through RevenueCat; see the subscription terms.
What you can't do
- Re-publish, scrape, or systematically extract lens content. The library is the product.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
- Use the app to train large language models or other automated systems.
- Resell, sublicense, or share your subscription credentials with people outside Apple's Family Sharing.
- Use the service in violation of any applicable law, including export controls or sanctions.
Availability and changes to the service
We aim for the app to work reliably on supported devices (iOS 17 and later). We may add, remove, or modify lenses, features, and pricing tiers over time. We will not retroactively remove features from a Lifetime purchase except where required by law, security, or platform policy.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any lens is exhaustive or current at any given moment. The world changes; the library is a perpetual work in progress.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SupportU LLC's total liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD $50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email (if we have one for you) at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
